Organized by Alex Dammermann (MFPL, AT) of the DK Chromosome Dynamics, this Workshop will provide a hands-on practice for novices and seasoned users alike. The list of instructors is truly impressive: Clare Waterman (NIH), Paul Maddox (IRIC), Iva Tolic-Norrelykke (MPI), Alexey Khodjakov (Wadsworth Center) and Peter Carlton (Kyoto University). Lectures are open to the public.

From the information email: “This course will give an introduction to contemporary microscopy techniques. Lectures will cover microscopy-related principles of optics, principles of fluorescence, anatomy of the microscope, methods of optical sectioning, image acquisition methods, and the basics of data analysis. Hands-on sessions will introduce students to Widefield, TIRF, Confocal, Multiphoton and Spinning disc microscopy. Two hands-on sessions will be dedicated to image analysis methods.”
